Super Hero
The imposing four legged monster towered over the man with the sword. The beast stood on all fours and flashed his mouth full of large sharp teeth. The man stared at the monster with a look that would melt steel. He swung the glimmering sword in a long arc above his head then motioned with one finger for the monster to make the first move.
“Not today!” Declared the man with the sword.
The monster roared, ducked its head then charged. It swung once with one of it's massive paws and missed. The man chopped severing the monster's leg then stabbed the beast through the heart. He buried the sword to the hilt then pushed the monster off with his foot. The man's biceps tensed as he held the sword waiting for the next monster to show it's self.
He wiped the sweat away from his forehead and ran his hand through his short blond hair. He stood at the entrance to a cave that seemed to disappear straight into the heart of the mountain. He stepped closer to the mouth and cocked his head to one side listening for a sound he knew would soon echo from the walls.
A mechanical whir then a crunch, followed by more whirring and more crunching. Coming into the light was a mechanical warrior the size of a small house. A small red light shinning from the top of the steal head scanned the floor until it rested on the man. The massive metal hand rotated into a cannon just as large.
The man dropped the sword in terror. “Oh no. A Dread Knight.” The man mumbled.
The man fumbled with a button attached to a cord. The cord ran from his hand, snaked around his side and into backpack hanging on his back. Finally his thumb depressed the red switch. Instantly metal armor began to crawl its way out around his chest then down his torso. The man pulled the helmet over his head as the last piece.
The robot raised its one hand and pounded the rock next to the now armored man. Rock exploded, sending him sprawling away from the powerful hand. Just as the man got to his feet the robot raised its other arm and fired the cannon that protruded dangerously from its steal elbow. The projectile hit the man square in the chest knocking him once more off of his feet and up against a rock wall behind him.
The robot raised its cannon one more time for the finishing blow. The shot that would end the career of this super hero indefinitely.
“Help me. Please someone help me.” A small feminine voice called from just outside the cave.
This was all the distraction the man needed. He engaged the rockets embedded in his hands and his feet and blasted in the air toward the voice in trouble.
“Don't worry I'll save you.” He says as lands next to the woman. She sat curled up against a rock, her eyes wide.
“Watch out!” She said. The man turned to see where she was pointing. The robot had turned and was inching its way closer. The man thinking quickly raised his hand and pointed his palm at the incoming robot. A blinding white light shot from his hand and connected with the robot's head temporarily knocking it off balance.
The man saw his opportunity and rocketed toward the toppling robot. He connected with the robot's leg. With everything he had the man held onto the robot's leg. He wouldn't let go, couldn't let go until this robot was destroyed.

Kevin picked up his son prying the small body off of his leg and hugged him, then poked him in the ribs. The little boy giggled uncontrollably as his dad tickled him.
“The robot wins.” Kevin says in the most metallic voice he could muster.
“Not today.” Shouts the little boy.
“Who would have guessed a three year old would have such an imagination.” The boy's mother said as she joined in the tickling.
